Early May 2026 - Two Night Backpacking Trip (5/1-5/3)

Looking to deepen your backpacking experience or take on a moderately challenging multi-night adventure? Join us for an intermediate-level backpacking trip through Tiadaghton State Forest (Lycoming County, Pennsylvania). This route offers greater mileage and more varied terrain than our beginner programs—covering approximately 14 miles with roughly 2,000 feet of elevation gain. This hike provides a rewarding mix of physical challenge and scenic diversity, from quiet headwater streams to expansive overlooks. Throughout this trek we will instruct and guide participants in essential intermediate skills, including gear systems, efficient packing, water sourcing and filtering, food storage, navigation basics, and Leave No Trace.

The trip runs from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, May 3rd and is capped at 8 participants. More specific details, including meeting location and start time, will be provided upon booking along with a detailed packing list.

Please note when adding a trip to your cart that the quantity entered corresponds to the number of participants you are booking for. There is a specific number of slots available for each trip based on available staffing, location specific regulations, and available space to camp at the given location.

Upon booking, more specific trip information will be sent including parking location, meeting time, and a packing list with necessary gear. If needed, backpacking gear rentals and meal kits are available for an additional fee. Rentals are limited, so be sure to reserve early.

*Prior to arrival a copy of the "General Information/Health Questionnaire" and "Liability Release" forms must be completed, signed, and returned to Peaks & Pines Backcountry Guides via email (info@peaksandpinesguides.com) for all participants. These forms can be found linked below along with our policies. Please read and review all. Participants will not be allowed to attend trip if these forms are not completed, signed, and returned.
