Late May 2026 - Overnight Backpacking Trip (5/30-5/31)

Looking for a low-key overnight adventure or are new to backpacking? Join us for a beginner-level backpacking trip along the trails of Rothrock State Forest in Centre County, PA. This 7-mile out-and-back trek includes less than 500 feet of total elevation gain, making it an extremely approachable experience for those just starting out. Throughout this trip we will instruct and guide participants in the most essential skills of backpacking, including clothing/gear selection, packing, water treatment, campsite selection and set up, cooking, and Leave No Trace.

The trip runs from Saturday, May 30th to Sunday, May 31st and is capped at 8 participants. More specific details, including meeting location and start time, will be provided upon booking along with a detailed packing list.

Please note when adding a trip to your cart that the quantity entered corresponds to the number of participants you are booking for. There is a specific number of slots available for each trip based on available staffing and location specific regulations.

Just starting out or still working on accumulating gear? Backpacking gear rentals and backpacking food kits are available for an additional fee. Rentals are limited, so be sure to reserve early.

*Prior to arrival a copy of the "General Information/Health Questionnaire" and "Liability Release" forms must be completed, signed, and returned to Peaks & Pines Backcountry Guides via email (info@peaksandpinesguides.com) for all participants. These forms can be found linked below along with our policies. Please read and review all. Participants will not be allowed to attend trip if these forms are not completed, signed, and returned.
