August 2026 - Overnight Backpacking Trip (8/29-8/30)

New to backpacking or looking for a low-key overnight adventure? Join us for a beginner-level backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail in Warren County, NJ. This 8.6-mile loop only includes a little over 1,000 feet of total elevation gain, making it an approachable and rewarding experience for those just starting out. Throughout this trek we will instruct and guide participants in the most essential skills, including clothing, gear, packing, water treatment, campsite selection, camp set up, cooking, and Leave No Trace.

The trip runs from Saturday, August 29th to Sunday, August 30th. More specific details, including meeting location and start time, will be provided upon booking along with a detailed packing list.

Please note that limited spots are available for this trip. When adding a trip to your cart, please note that the quantity entered corresponds to the number of participants you are booking for.

If needed, backpacking gear rentals and meal kits are available for an additional fee. Rentals are limited, so be sure to reserve early. Although not required, it is recommended that first-time backpackers purchase a meal kit for their trip.

*Prior to arrival a copy of the "General Information/Health Questionnaire" and "Liability Release" forms must be completed, signed, and returned to Peaks & Pines Backcountry Guides via email (info@peaksandpinesguides.com) for all participants. These forms can be found linked below along with our policies. Please read and review all. Participants will not be allowed to attend trip if these forms are not completed, signed, and returned.
